Say what matters to you in one rule: an xG number, and whose xG it is. The home team, the away team, either side, the favorite, the underdog, the side that is losing, or both teams together. Add a time window when only recent chances count.

Chances without a goal
The home team has created chances worth a goal and a half and still hasn't scored. It's the classic gap between the performance and the scoreboard, and you hear about it the minute it opens. Home, away or either side: you choose whose missed chances you hear about.
A burst of chances
A team is creating real chances right now, not an hour ago. Only the last 15 minutes count, so you hear about a team while it's still creating, not after the chances have dried up.
An open match
The match has already produced chances worth two and a half goals, and there are still at least 20 minutes to play. The open, chance-filled match you'd want to have on, found without opening a single match page.
Behind on the scoreboard, ahead on chances
The side that is losing has created clearly better chances than the side that leads. The scoreline says one thing, the chances say another, and you're the first to know. A leader who is also ahead on chances never reaches you.
Chances and pressure together
xG tells you how good the chances of the whole match were. Momentum, InPlayGuru's signature metric, tells you who is on top right now. Together they find a team that has created plenty and is still pushing after the hour mark.
One-sided chances

What is live xG?
Live xG is the expected goals of a team while the match is being played: the number of goals it would score on average from the chances it has created so far. It is a running total. Every new shot adds to it, and it carries on through half-time without resetting. InPlayGuru tracks it for both teams in the matches that report it, and sends you a Telegram alert the moment it reaches your number.

How often does live xG update?

What does high xG with no goal mean?
The team created good chances and did not score from them. The number describes what already happened, not what comes next: a high xG does not mean a goal is coming, and plenty of matches end with a high xG and a low score. What it does tell you is that the performance and the scoreline have stopped agreeing, and InPlayGuru flags it for you as soon as a team has scored clearly fewer goals than its chances were worth. Add a time window or live momentum to know whether the pressure is still on.
Is xG the same as momentum or shots on target?
No. Shots on target count attempts without their quality. xG weighs every shot by how likely it was to go in, over the whole match. Momentum is InPlayGuru's signature metric: a proprietary formula that reads several in-play factors in real time over a rolling 10-minute window, so it rises and falls with the game and shows who is on top right now.
